Scotland

Scotland is a nation that is part of the United Kingdom and covers the northern third of the island of Great Britain. It's capital is Edinburgh. The main language of the country is English, but there are other recognised languages: Scots and Scottish Gaelic.

Places to visit
Loch Ness: one of the most famous loches of the World, home of the legendary creature the Loch Ness monster (often affectionately called Nessie). This loch is  large and deep, extending for approximately 37 kilometres. This location is very beautiful and many people go in hopes to see for themselves if this monster is real or not.

Edinburgh Castle: this castle stands at the head of the Old Town. Its stone towers and walls of have dominated the Edinburgh skyline since the 13th century. It is an iconic Scottish tourist attraction. 

The Royal MileThe Royal Mile is the avenue that connects this castle and the Holyrood Palace; it is the busiest street on the Old Town.


Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum: this is the most important museum and art gallery of Glasgow and it has one of the most significant civil art collections of Europe. This museum is free-to-enter and the most visited one in the United Kingdom outside London.

The Helix: this is an exciting new parkland where you can do activities such as cycling, walking, watersports... Here you can meet The Kelpies in Falkirk, the largest equine sculptures in the world. They were designed by Andy Scott in tribute to the horse power heritage of central Scotland.

Saint Giles' Cathedral: the principal place of worship of the Church of Scotland, located in Edinburgh. This building if often reffered to as High Kirk of Edinburgh. Its framed crown spire is one of the most recognisable features of the city's skyline.
